Linux plans to be first OS to support USB 3.0

06/13/09 09:42

It will take a time before USB 3.0 hits the market, but it will certainly be worth the wait, as it is offers speeds ten times of that of USB 2.0 connections. In fact, hardware vendors are already gearing up to adapt this new technology, and Linux wants to be the first operating system to support it, and I mean native support.

According to a report, USB 3.0 support will be available in the Linux 2.6.31 kernel, which will be released in September 2009.
